Termite Inspection

If you’re looking for a home termite inspection near you, Joel's Pest Control offers both comprehensive Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) inspections as well as limited Termite Inspections.

Termite inspections are essential for early detection of termite activity to prevent costly repair work from large scale damage to a structure. Termite inspections assess the conditions which make a property susceptible to infestation and identifies ways to mitigate and reduce risks of future infestations. If you have noticed any signs of termite activity, we recommend scheduling an inspection sooner rather than later.

WDO Inspections For Real Estate Transactions

A termite 'clearance' is usually a requirement from most lenders, and buyers also need confidence that the property they are about to purchase is not infested. When making large investments, you want peace of mind that you aren't unknowingly buying an infestation along with the house.

Joel's Pest Control is licensed in performing Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) inspections for real estate purchases and refinancing. In addition to termites, our technicians inspect for evidence of wood destroying fungus, carpenter ants, carpenter bees and wood-boring beetles. We provide necessary documentation in compliance with full disclosure laws, ensuring no surprises from wood destroying organisms when escrow closes.

What To Expect During A Termite Inspection

Inspections will normally take 1 to 3 hours to complete depending on the size of the structure. Our inspection process is thorough and we'll need access to the interior, attic and sub-area. Here's what to expect for your scheduled inspection:
Before Inspection:  Prior to the termite inspection, we will discuss any particular concerns or needs you may have. Our inspector will let you know what the inspection will involve. Our inspector will need access to all of the walls of your structure being inspected. To help facilitate the inspection process, please clear away clutter and remove items stored against the perimeter of the structure.

During Inspection:  Our inspector will be examining both the inside and outside of the structure as well as the surrounding property. This includes attics, patios, porches, garages and sub-areas (crawl space). Our inspector will look out for potential moisture leaks, signs of termites as well as conducive conditions for infestation.

After Inspection:  When the termite inspection is complete, you will receive a report which describes the findings within ten days. The report will detail whether or not termite activity was present as well as areas of concern and recommendations. An estimate for treatment will also be provided in the report for you to decide the best course of action.

Termite Inspection F.A.Q.

what is a termite inspection?
Our state licensed termite experts perform a thorough inspection of your home or structure, both inside and out, looking for the presence of termite activity and potential wood destroying organisms.
Why Do I Need A Termite Inspection?
Termite activity will often go unnoticed while they feed on the wood of your home or structure. On average, homeowners will spend around $3000 to repair damage from termite colonies. Early detection and prevention is key to limiting costs of damage from termites.

Also, a WDO inspection is normally required by lenders for real estate transactions. If you want to buy or sell a home, you'll need to make sure it's free and clear of termites.
What Are Limited Inspections?
A limited inspection is where we look for evidence of a specific wood destroying organism (for example, termites, fungus, carpenter ants). Limited inspection's are usually performed at the request of a homeowner who needs a specific problem identified.
