Spiders
Spiders are one of the most feared pests in the industry and are the reason many clients call for pest control service. Even though most species are harmless, the thought alone of spiders can often make some peoples skin crawl. They abundant in nature, vary greatly in size and shape, and most of the time prey on other insects. Many spiders have spinnerets which they use to extrude silk to make webs where they patiently wait to catch their prey. Others prefer to seek out or ambush their food. Spiders have to use enzymes to break down food before eating it due to their digestive track being too small to take in solids. Spiders are amazing insects with unique physiology and behavior. Below are some of the more common species found here in the northern California region.
